Soccer predictions for Milan – Verona
AC Milan faces Hellas Verona at the Stadio San Siro in a fixture from the 8th round of the Serie A. We think it’s a very good moment to present you our soccer predictions online for this game. Are you ready?
AC Milan are pretty serious about winning the Serie A for a first time since 2011. The Rossoneri are one of the only three teams still unbeaten in the Italian league. Milan are currently second in the standings with 19 points won which puts them only two points behind the leader Napoli. In other words, they are touching the top – they only need to keep winning.
Before the international break Milan won for a fourth time in their last five games in the Serie A. Stefano Pioli’s team had a really difficult visit to Atalanta in Bergamo, but they made it look easy. After 78 minutes of playing Milan already had a stunning advantage of three goals in the scoreline. Davide Calabria opened the score in the first minute while Sandro Tonali doubled the lead just before the halftime break. Rafael Leao scored the third one 12 minutes before the end. The visitors conceded twice afterwards, but they still secured a 3-2 win at the Gewiss Stadium.
One of the best things about this AC Milan team is how different players are taking the responsibility in different moments. The Rossoneri have scored 15 goals in Serie A so far and these goals were scored by 9 different players. This could be a really good thing for Milan – how they don’t really need a big star to win their games by himself.
Talking about big stars, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return on the pitch against Verona. The Swedish veteran had played just one match in the Serie A this season because of injuries. During the international break Ibrahimovic chose to remain in Milan and continued to work with the fitness coaches. Zlatan’s goal is to return on the pitch exactly in this game against Verona. If it doesn’t happen, he’ll try to do it against Porto in the Champions League just few days later. Although the Swedish star is 39-years old now and past his prime, he remains a player of huge influence when he’s on the pitch. And he’s constantly reminding us that he didn’t forget how to score goals.
Olivier Grioud is another one of Milan’s veterans who could return on the pitch on Saturday. The French striker is pretty close to recovery, so he could be included in the group to face Hellas Verona. The former Chelsea star already scored his first two goals in the Serie A, but no doubt he’s hungry for more. Giroud is not a player who usually create crazy statistics with his performances, but he’s a player with precious experience. That’s why Milan decided to sign him at first place – he could be really useful, especially when things are not going according to the plan.
Brahim Diaz is one of Milan’s players who deserve compliments for his performance. The 22-years old Spanish striker didn’t make it at Manchester City and Real Madrid, but it seems he found his right place in Italy. So far Diaz have scored 4 goals in 9 games in all competitions – he’s doing really well. He’s still owned by Real Madrid, but don’t be surprised if Milan make an effort to buy him after the end of the season. He’s a player with a bright future ahead of him – we don’t have any doubts about that. For Diaz this season is his best chance to rise on the big scene and leave a mark.
One of Milan’s strongest sides is their central midfield duo. Sandro Tonali and Frank Kessie managed to build a fruitful partnership and they are complimenting each other in the best way possible. Tonali is a creative midfielder who reminds us of Andrea Pirlo while Kessie is a player with huge physical presence. Keeping them both in the squad would be essential for Milan and their success in the future.
Hellas Verona are approaching this visit to the San Siro from 12th place in the league. Igor Tudor’s team managed to win 8 points so far and has a record of two wins, two draws and three losses. But here’s the important part – Verona are brilliant in their last four matches – two wins and two draws.
Before the break Verona enjoyed their second win for the season. The Gialloblu hosted Spezia at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi and crushed their opponent with 4-0. Four different players scored for the hosts. Giovanni Simeone opened the score while Davide Faraoni doubled the team’s lead. Gianluca Caprari scored the third one in the 42th minute while Daniel Bessa put the fourth nail in Spezia’s coffin. It was Hellas Verona’s most spectacular game since the start of the season. And a solid sign that they are moving in the right direction in the last month.
Verona’s defense have to be on the highest level against Milan. Most likely Tudor will use the same 3-4-3 formation which brought him success in the last game, but he could eventually change it to 3-5-2 to support his midfield with one additional man. Against Spezia Tudor used Casale, Gunter and Dawidowicz in defense, so these three could be lined-up at the San Siro as well.
Just like AC Milan, Hellas Verona’s attacking players are in a good shape since the beginning of the campaign. Nikola Kalinic has already scored three goals in the Serie A while Giovanni Simeone and Gianluca Caprari totalled four goals for the club. Igor Tudor can be happy with his team’s attacking efficiency so far – Verona have scored 15 goals in seven matches played and that’s more than clubs like Juventus, Fiorentina and Atalanta. The only problem is they have conceded 14 as well.
That’s the soccer predictions online for the Serie A match between AC Milan and Hellas Verona on Saturday. Is this going to be an easy one for the Rossoneri? Verona’s current shape is telling us something different here.
