Football betting tips online for Leeds – West Ham

Leeds United and West Ham United will face each other at the Elland Road in a game from the 6th week of the Premier League. Are you ready to check our football betting tips online for this clash? Let’s get to work!

Leeds United are certainly not happy with their form since the beginning of the season as they didn’t win neither one of their five games so far. Marcelo Bielsa’s team is 17th in the standings with three points and a record of three draws and two losses. That’s not terrible because they have lost just twice so far, but certainly the Peacocks need a win right now. Could it happen in the next game?

Last weekend Leeds made their third draw for the season. Bielsa’s boys had a visit to the St. James’ Park where they faced Newcastle United. Raphinha opened the score for the visitors in the 13th minute when he used an assist from Patrick Bamford. This gave Leeds some confidence, but at the end of the first half Saint-Maximin equalised for the Magpies. In the second half both teams had some opportunities to score, but it didn’t happen.

We don’t expect to see Bielsa doing any major changes against West Ham. He’s using the best players he has at the moment. In Newcastle he used a 4-5-1 formation with Kalvin Philips as a deep-lying playmaker and Rodrigo and Klich ahead of him. Raphinha and Daniel James operated on the wings while Patrick Bamford was leading the attack. In the second half he picked Roberts, Summerville and Shackleton from the bench.

Marcelo Bielsa’s teams are usually scoring many goals, but so far Leeds have scored just five goals in five matches played – one goal per game. They also conceded 12 times which is not a good sign for the way Leeds are defending this season. Surely their Argentine manager has some work to do in order to stabilise the performance.

The young Dutch defender Pascal Struijk should return in action after being suspended in the last game. Bielsa could use him if he decides to. There are some unavailable players in the squad, though – Diego Llorente, Adam Forshaw and Robin Koch are still not ready to return on the pitch because of injuries.

One of Leeds’ summer signings Daniel James still waits for his first goal with the club. The Welsh winger arrived at the Elland Road after his former club signed Cristiano Ronaldo. So far James played twice for the Peacocks in the Premier League, but he still awaits his debut goal. James is still settling in, but we have no doubts that he’s going to be an important player for Leeds United.

West Ham United started the 2021/22 season in the best way possible – with two wins in the first two games, but in the last three they are without a win. The Hammers made two draws and suffered their first defeat in the league for the campaign.

For West Ham it was a really dramatic game against Manchester United last weekend. The last minutes of the game were just crazy. First United scored a late goal in the 89th minute, but West Ham got a chance to equalise. David Moyes’ team got a penalty kick in the last few seconds, but Mark Noble saw his shot being saved by David de Gea. It was really disappointing for the fans to see such a thing happening. Moyes put Noble on the pitch only for the penalty, but it turned out to be a bad decision.

Mohamed Said Benrahma was the player who scored for West Ham against Manchester United. For the Algerian striker it was a third goal for the season, so he’s turning out to be an important player for the Londoners. Just for comparison – Benrahma scored just one Premier League goal in 30 appearances last season. His improvement is impressive, but let’s see if he can continue like this.

West Ham’s manager David Moyes could change some things to refresh the team after the defeat in the previous game. The Ukrainian international Andriy Yarmolenko is one of the options he has in the squad. Yarmolenko entered the pitch as a substitute against Manchester United few days ago. And then another option is the Argentine midfielder Manuel Lanzini who has enough Premier League experience to make an instant impact.

One of the big news during the week was the departure of Winston Reid. The defender left the club by a mutual consent after spending 11 seasons with the team. The 33-years old defender had a long career with West Ham, but he was no longer needed by the manager. That’s why both Reid and the club decided to part ways.

The good news for West Ham is the return of the key striker Michail Antonio who already scored four goals this season. Antonio missed the Manchester United fixture because of suspension, but now he’s ready to get back on the pitch. He’s really a player West Ham can’t afford to miss. His contribution is always big, so having him back in the team is great news for the Scottish manager.

It’s a curious fact that David Moyes refuses to play the French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola who arrived at the club in the summer. Here we are talking about a player who played for clubs like PSG, Real Madrid and Villarreal. Despite having such an experience behind his back, Areola still can’t beat the veteran Lukasz Fabianski for a starting place. Fabianski is 36-years old now, but he remains the top choice for David Moyes. That’s bad luck for Areola who probably hoped to become the starting goalkeeper in London.

Marcelo Bielsa and David Moyes are coaches who let their names speak for them, so let’s see how their teams will perform when they meet at the Elland Road.
